This national convention is a culmination of resources, education, competitions, and events that foster chef and industry growth. The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF) was founded in 1929 in New York City, uniting three chefs' organizations with a mission to promote the professional image of American chefs worldwide through culinary education. ACF's recognition of executive chefs as professionals in 1976 sparked industry growth. Today, they are the largest professional chefs' organization in North America with 14,000+ members and 170 chapters.
